August Vollmar

August Vollmar (born February 1, 1893 in Essen , † April 21, 1970 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

In 1923 Vollmar joined the SPD. Until 1933 he worked in the free trade union and workers' sports movement . From 1933 he was arrested several times and was in the Buchenwald concentration camp from 1937 to 1941 .

From April 20, 1947 to June 17, 1950, Vollmar was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituency 096 Gelsenkirchen-West.
