Augustin Mair

Augustin Mair , also Augustin Mayer , CRSA (* 1485 in Lehr near Ulm ; † November 25, 1543 ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Freising , Basel and Würzburg .

In 1502 Mair joined the Augustinian Canons in Wengen . From 1513 he studied theology and was ordained a priest for the order in 1521 .

On June 8, 1523 he was appointed titular bishop of Salona and auxiliary bishop in Freising. He received his episcopal ordination on December 13, 1523. In March 1527 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Basel and in October 1536 in Würzburg. In addition, he was cathedral preacher in Würzburg .

He was co-consecrator at the episcopal ordination of Michael Helding .
