Aurelio Wilmo Malfa (born August 31, 1942 in Sicily , † November 20, 2004 in Berlin ) was an Italian actor .

Aurelio Malfa was best known for the ZDF series Unser Charly , for which he was in front of the camera until the end. Since the 1st season in 1995, the native Italian has played the role of the caring and always cheerful animal keeper at the animal rescue center Rodolfo Lombardi .

Aurelio Malfa grew up in a Sicilian village and first learned, for the sake of his mother, a “decent” job as an accountant. In the basement of his parents' house he ran a small bistro and played guitar for his guests. After a visit to his uncle in Germany, he decided to try his luck there, as he noticed that he was very popular with his fun-loving, charming nature and his attractive appearance and could earn money. In the Europa Center in Berlin he got a job as a musician in an Italian restaurant and entertained - above all - the female guests. Here he was finally discovered and engaged for the comedy on Kurfürstendamm .

From 1974 until shortly before his death, Malfa played numerous roles on stage and in front of the camera - and always as a “professional Italian”. In addition to engagements at theaters in Vienna and Berlin, Malfa also worked in numerous film and television productions. He also played the owner of an Italian restaurant in episode 82 of the children's program Löwenzahn .

In addition to his native Italian, Aurelio Malfa spoke German, English, French and Spanish. In addition to his artistic activity, he also ran the “Aurelio” restaurant in Markgraf-Albrecht-Strasse 10 in Berlin.

Aurelio Malfa was found passed out in his restaurant in late August 2004, presumably after a severe asthma attack . After being in a coma for three months, he died in November 2004 without regaining consciousness. He was buried in a family crypt in Sicily.
