Aurelius of Carthage (* before 391; † around 430) was Bishop of Carthage from approx. 391 to approx. 430 .
392/392 he succeeded Genethlius as Archbishop of Cartage and Primate of Africa .
The contents of some letters from Augustine of Hippo to Aurelius have been preserved. Under his leadership, 418 took place as General Council of the African provinces, the Synod of Carthage held on which eight canons of Pelagianism was condemned.
Aurelius is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church . His feast day is July 20th .
