Training system for guest / tour guides according to DIN EN 15565

The training system for guest guides was created in 2008 by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) . With the DIN EN 15565 standard, a uniform and comparable European standard was created for the training of tour guides .

Content of the standard

The EU standard stipulates at least 600 teaching units. Of this, area-specific knowledge account for 162 hours, leadership technology 108 hours, the imparting of entrepreneurial knowledge 91 hours and practical teaching units (guided tours, excursions, etc.) 245 hours. Certification

The national DIN committees send representatives to the European standardization committees. In Germany, DIN eV is based in Berlin. Providers of such training systems can be certified according to this standard via its subsidiary DIN CERTCO Gesellschaft für Konformitätsversicherung mbH, in which the TÜV Rheinland Group is also involved.

The Berlin model of the training system for tour guides of the Federal Association of Tour Guides in Germany. V. was the first in Germany to be certified according to the European standard DIN EN 15565. The association is a private interest group of tour guides in Germany. The training program of Sightseeing Point GmbH, based in Berlin, has also been certified by DIN CERTCO in accordance with this standard. The company offers city tours on foot, city tours and bicycle tours in Berlin and, among other things, leads city tours for the visitor groups of the members of the German Bundestag.
