Interpretation document

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Until December 31, 1956, the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) only published patent specifications . From January 1, 1957 to 1981, additional publications were created that were published before the patent specification. The publication numbers beginning with 1,000,000 were used for special publications.

An interpretation document was a printed document of the examined and accepted application in order to give third parties the opportunity to object before the patent was granted . If there was no opposition within the three-month opposition period, the patent was granted and the patent specification published.

Since 1981 no longer published, there is only one disclosure document 18 months after the filing date (or an earlier priority date, if applicable) and a patent specification after the patent has been granted .
