Australians Against Further Immigration

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Australians Against Further Immigration (AAFI) was an Australian party whose members referred to themselves as "eco-nationalists". She was against population growth through immigration because it was harmful to the country and its environment . The party was founded in 1989, registered in 1990 and dissolved in 2008.

history

The party was founded in 1989 by Rodney and Robyn Spencer, parents of actor Jesse Spencer . Both at the state and federal level were both regularly represented as candidates without ever having won a seat. From the opponents of the party one hears again and again allegations that they are racist and have connections to the local right-wing scene, the Australian League of Rights . In 1994, an AAFI candidate from Franca Arena in New South Wales Parliament was truthfully quoted as saying:

My policy with regard to refugees and illegals is to open a second Yallah meat factory, creating 500 local jobs and processing them into blood and bones. "

After the party failed to demonstrate in 2005 that it still had the minimum number of members to be eligible for election, the Australian Electoral Commission removed the party from their lists. In March 2007, the AAFI attempted to get 56 candidates to the New South Wales House of Commons and won 1.6% of the House of Lords vote. In the end, however, it was not enough for any of the candidates to be elected.

On March 21, 2007, party representatives on local radio ABC stated that one of the campaign topics was the deportation of all migrants who had come into the country since 1990 in order to get the water shortages and the difficulties with climate change under control. In 2008 the party was dissolved.
