Jesse Gordon Spencer (born February 12, 1979 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Career

During a theatrical performance at the school, an agent noticed Spencer's acting talent. At the age of 14 he was in front of the camera for Australian television productions. From 1994 to 2001 he played the role of Billy Kennedy in the soap opera Neighbors . In the course of this success, his agent established contacts in Hollywood . Spencer then worked in the television production Stranded in 2002 and in the movie Uptown Girls in 2003 .

Also in 2003 he played the Australian swimming idol Tony Fingleton in the film Against the Current . From 2004 to 2012 Spencer was part of the regular cast of the successful US doctor series Dr. House , in which he met the Australian Dr. Robert Chase played. After the official announcement of the end of the series in early 2012, Spencer secured one of the leading roles in the new television series Chicago Fire . He also plays this role in a few episodes of the spin-offs Chicago PD and Chicago Med .

Sascha Rotermund and Marcel Collé dub him for German television .

Private life

Jesse Spencer has three siblings who, like his father, are also medical professionals. His parents, Rodney and Robyn Spencer, were the founders of the nationalist Australian party " Australians Against Further Immigration ".

In 2004, Spencer met his colleague Jennifer Morrison while filming the pilot of the hospital series Dr. House know. They got engaged on December 23, 2006, and broke off in August 2007. From 2010 to 2013 Spencer was in a relationship with the professional surfer Maya Gabeira .
