The Austria font was the official standard font for traffic signs in Austria . A distinction is made between eng and middle script.

Since 2013, this font has been replaced by TERN , which has been tested since 2010. This goes back to an EU project. For the sometimes particularly long place names in Austria, however - as with the predecessor Austria - a special engschrift had to be designed. Since existing traffic signs are not changed prematurely, Austria will continue to be seen on Austria's roads for many years.
