Awards from SDAG Wismut

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The awards from SDAG Wismut were company awards from SDAG Wismut , which were donated in 1949 and were thus among the earliest company awards in the GDR. This included the following awards:

Honorary title of Master of Work

1949 to 1954

The 41 mm high badge of the first form shows a standing miner who holds a waving colored German flag in his right hand (without the GDR's national coat of arms) and a jackhammer in his left hand. To the right of the miner is a stylized winding tower with a winch. Below is the three-line inscription MEISTER / DER / ARBEIT . An upright laurel branch can be seen to the left of the miner. The lower end of the badge is a waving banner with the inscription AG WISMUT .

1954 to 1955

The badge of this period is also 41 mm high, was awarded in two classes (gold or silver) and shows an oversized black, red and gold waving flag (without the state coat of arms of the GDR) on which the symbol of mining, mallets and iron is placed . Below is the four-line inscription MEISTER / DER / ARBEIT / I. KLASSE or II. Klasse in small letters and to the left of the flagpole . The left edge of the badge is formed by an upwardly curved branch of laurel, silver or gold, depending on the level awarded. An adjoining small banner with the inscription AG WISMUT hugs the lower part of the badge slightly to the right.

1955 to 1959

The badge of the third form is almost identical to its predecessor. Only the inscription on the lower waving banner reads SDAG WISMUT .

1960 to 1974

In 1960 the badge for honorary title underwent another change. The waving German flag was now fitted with the GDR's national coat of arms and the flail and iron on it was slightly smaller than on the previous model.

From 1974

In the form of the badge, which has been awarded since 1974, the inscription of the awarded class was now omitted, as this was now recognizable by the gold-colored or silver texture of the parts (mallet and iron) and the laurel branch.

Achievement badge of the SDAG Wismut

The SDAG Wismut badge was created in 1955 and awarded until 1965 for exemplary work results or for special achievements in the use and care of valuable mining equipment. The 27.5 mm high gold-plated badge is almost oval and shows a laurel wreath, which is closed on its upper side by a five-pointed, red star and on its underside a waving banner with the words SDAG WISMUT . The type of machine on which the person to be honored was working was symbolically represented in the middle. If you only wanted to wear the ribbon, the medal could be hung up.
