Automotive Network Exchange

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Automotive Network Exchange (ANX) is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that was originally set up and operated by the Automotive Industry Action Group , Telcordia , General Motors , Ford and Chrysler to serve the American automobile manufacturers and suppliers. In the meantime, however, the customer base has expanded to include the banking sector and the medical sector is also showing keen interest in light of the information security laws that apply to it.

The network was first established in 1995. In 1999 it was sold to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and from then on it was operated by ANXeBusiness . Over the next six years, the number of participants increased by 4,000 companies. In 2006, ANXeBusiness was bought by One Equity Partners .

The equivalent of the ANX is the European Network Exchange (ENX) in Europe and the Japanese Network Exchange (JNX) in Japan.
