Avella cross

The Avella cross (crux avellana), hazelnut cross , is a common coat of arms in heraldry .

A common cross made of four hazelnuts is shown , the stems of which are directed towards the center of the shield and meet. Named after the refined large hazelnuts, the avellans from the Italian region around Avella in the province of Avellino ( Campania ). The coloring is done according to the heraldic rules. The cross can also be described as a hazelnut cross . The location can also be in the form of a St. Andrew's cross in the coat of arms .
