Location of Avenida 27 de Febrero in Buenos Aires

The Avenida 27 de Febrero is about seven kilometer long main road in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . It runs from east to southwest and runs through the districts of Villa Riachuelo , Villa Soldati and Nueva Pompeya . The avenue begins at Puente La Noria and ends at Puente Alsina .

On October 5, 2005, the expansion of Avenida 27 de Febrero by two more lanes was inaugurated, which was necessary to relieve the highways Autopista Dellepiane and Autopista 25 de Mayo . The expansion was part of the Anillo Vial construction project . Together with Avenidas General Paz , Lugones and Cantilo , this created a bypass road around Buenos Aires.

The name of the Avenida recalls February 27, 1812, when Manuel Belgrano first raised a blue and white flag, which is now the flag of Argentina .
