Under aventiurehafter Dietrichepik is understood in medieval studies Literature, a group of heroic epics around the figure of Dietrich von Bern , who no longer derive directly from historical events or only pseudo-historical origin.

The epics Eckenlied , Goldemar , Laurin , Sigenot , Virginal and Wunderer are usually assigned to the subgenre . Characteristic for this group of texts is their development in constant engagement with the courtly novel . Since Dietrich's adversaries are mostly supernatural beings such as giants, dragons or dwarfs, the seals are sometimes also summarized under the term fairytale Dietrichepik (Wisniewski). However, the majority of research seems to prefer the structure-oriented term “ aventiurehaft ”, according to Heinzle, Francis B. Brévart or de Boor.

With the exception of the corner song , all of the texts were probably written in or after the second half of the 13th century. With Albrecht von Kemenaten for the Goldemar , an author of the otherwise usually anonymous poems becomes tangible.
