Avocado salad (French. Salade d'lawyers ) is a spicy fruit salad from the fruit of avocado . For the salad, the fruits are first halved, pitted and peeled. The peeled, crushed fruit is immediately drizzled with lemon to prevent browning. There are different types of preparation, mostly the ingredients are seasoned with a vinaigrette .

Mix in small slices of the pulp with cubes of grapefruit fillets and persimmon , season with a marinade of sherry vinegar, sesame oil, finely chopped lemon balm, and salt and white pepper. California avocado salad is similar, with additional shrimp and mayonnaise and a little gin or brandy mixed in. Other avocado salads, for example, are mixed with cubes of celery, artichoke hearts and tomatoes and filled into the intact shell halves, or with cucumber pieces, mustard vinaigrette and herbs, etc. Guacamole is another preparation made from avocados.
