history
The Awanhard Stadium was built in 1951. Since then, the Zorya Luhansk club has played its home games here. In 1972 Luhansk won the championship of the Soviet Union , to which Ukraine still belonged at that time, and was twice in the cup final of the USSR . Nowadays, the club plays in the first Ukrainian league and was ranked 4th there in the last season (2015/16).
The stadium has a capacity of 22,320 spectators. In the first few years of the stadium's existence, the capacity was considerably smaller, but renovations in 2003, which included an early warning system, a loudspeaker system and a few other things, increased the capacity to the 22,320 spectators currently in force.
