The HK Dinamo-Energija Yekaterinburg ( Russian ХК Динамо-Энергия Екатеринбург ) is a former Russian ice hockey club from Yekaterinburg .
history
Dinamo-Energija Yekaterinburg was founded in 1950 as Spartak Sverdlovsk and played in the highest Soviet and Russian divisions until its dissolution in 2007. In 1955, 1967, 1972, 1974, 1977, 1984 , 1986 and 1999, the team won the championship title of the second division eight times under different names . The last promotion to the Superliga came after winning the championship in 1999, when the club was able to establish itself in the elite class for two seasons.
The city rival Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, founded in 2006, is considered to be the unofficial successor team to Dinamo-Energija .
