The AXA Bank Europe, Brussels, branch Winterthur was the Swiss branch in Brussels -based Axa Bank, in turn, the French insurance group Axa belongs.

Axa-Bank received approval from the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (SFBC) for the Swiss market in 2008 and commenced operations in January 2009. It was subject to the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) and, like all banks in Switzerland, was a signatory of the mandatory “Agreement between Swiss banks and securities dealers on deposit protection”.

Axa-Bank added to the product range of the insurance company Axa Winterthur in the area of ​​short and medium-term investments. It offered private customers a savings account, a fixed deposit account and a retirement savings account 3a. The basic services of the products were free of charge. The banking products were sold online and through the Axa Winterthur sales force. In 2012 the bank achieved a turnover of 474 million euros.

In the course of the first half of 2012, the Axa-Bank ceased operations in Switzerland. On January 1, 2012, it transferred its customer base to bank zweiplus .
