The Ax-Kick (Japanese: Kakato-geri , kor: doki ba chagi or naeryeo chagi ) is a technique from numerous martial arts such as karate , taekwondo or kickboxing . First you pull the leg from the outside or inside above the opponent's head height and then let the straight leg soar down onto the opponent's head or collarbone, as if you were moving an ax downwards. The kick hits the heel. Best known for the Ax-kick was Andy Hug , a Swiss Kyokushinkai -Karateka that the K-1Won Grand Prix 1996. The technique is also called "Andy-Kick" after him. In other martial arts such as Shōtōkan Karate, this technique is prohibited due to lack of control.
