Axel Seyler

Axel Seyler (* 1939 in Bielefeld ) is a German academic sculptor. He is a member of the German Werkbund .

biography

Axel Seyler studied sculpture at the Werkkunstschule Bielefeld and then worked in the graphic arts industry. This was followed by a degree in sculpture at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Bernhard Heiliger .

Seyler dealt with architecture, art history and music. He also studied sculpture with Gustav Seitz and art education at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (subjects: ceramics, wood, photography).

From 1968 to 1974 he worked as Jürgen Weber's assistant at the architecture department of the Technical University of Braunschweig (chair for elementary forms).

From 1974 to 2004 he was professor for sculptural design and Gestalt psychology in the architecture / interior design department of the Lippe and Höxter University of Applied Sciences (today: University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe ) in Detmold. He taught basics of perception at the media production department at the Lippe and Höxter University of Applied Sciences in Lemgo and perceptual psychology at the Lessing University in Berlin .

He delivered scientific work in the field of perception psychology and gestalt theory , plastic works in the field of art in architecture , design and artistic earth building.

He is currently working on the Luther theme with his sculptures as part of the Reformation anniversary.
