The Ayvacık Dam ( Ayvacık Barajı in Turkish ) is located on the Tuzla Çayı River in the Çanakkale Province in northwestern Turkey .
The dam, located 4 km east of the city of Ayvacık , was built in 1997–2008 for the purpose of irrigation and drinking water supply . The barrier structure is a 49 m (above valley floor) high embankment dam with a clay core . The dam volume is 1.072 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 3.42 km² and has a storage volume of 39 million m³. The dam is designed for the irrigation of an area of 3400 ha.
