Azercell is an Azerbaijani mobile operator. According to its own statements, it is the market leader in the Caucasus state.
history
The company was founded in 1996 by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and the Turkish company Turkcell . It is now owned by the holding company "Fintur Holdings BV", which in turn is 58% owned by the Swedish Telia Company and 42% by Turkcell.
