Hartmut Nolte

Hartmut Nolte (born June 25, 1947 in Bottrop ) is a German actor and theater director.

Life

Nolte initially trained in management at Friedrich Krupp AG in Essen .

After his apprenticeship in Essen, he went to Munich to take up an individual acting at Uta Emmers Modern Theater to be completed in the Munich Hans-Sachs-Strasse, at the premises where today the training center Theater Munich by Heiko Dietz is. There he played in 1974 at the side of Birgit Zamulo and Michael Kroecher in Christoph Roethel's play Die Reise nach Chine ... or about the difficulty of expressing oneself . Zamulo played her role naked with a shaved head, which caused a sensation. This was followed by appearances at theaters in Munich, Bregenz , Remscheid , Düsseldorf , Hanover and in Vienna . This was followed by activities as assistant director to Michael Hinz and Jean-Louis Barrault . In 1974 he founded the theater over the state parliament in Maria-Theresia-Straße in Munich , which he directed until 1989.

In 1990 he went to Ireland . There he taught at the Department of Germanic Studies and at the Samuel Beckett Center at Trinity College in Dublin . At the same time he worked as a doctoral student on his Ph.D. - Work entitled Exile in Horváth 's Life and Work . After spending several years abroad in the Caribbean , he returned to Europe in 2002 and worked as a school theater assistant in Bottrop. During this time he appeared several times in leading roles in Munich.

In 2010 he went to Austria and founded the Modern Theater Vienna with actress and dramaturge Karin Pettenburger , which they both run together.
