The house was built in 1895 in the villa colony of Gern on Böcklinstrasse in the corner at the intersection with Malsenstrasse in the historicism style. The construction company was Heilmann & Littmann . In 1923 the architect Berthold Neubauer added an extension.
The villa forms a structural group with the building at Malsenstrasse 56/58.
