Böhler sign

Boehler characters (engl. Boehler's meniscus sign ) are diagnostic pain mark - so-called meniscus characters - which in the examination of the knee joint sidebands by a pain-provocation test for the detection of the meniscus damage arise. It was named after the Austrian surgeon Lorenz Böhler .

Pain in the knee in extension and adduction of the lower leg have damage to the medial meniscus ( medial meniscus ) or the lateral toward sideband, pain during abduction can be found in lateral meniscus damage or medial collateral ligament injuries.
