The bohemian red virgin apple is an old common and table apple. The variety comes from Bohemia and Lower Austria as an orchard variety . It is not very common in Germany. In Austria, the apple is also called 'Chrysofsker', in the Hanau area it is called 'Altenstädter Roter'. The tree is rich and robust. In damp locations it is prone to scab . The fruits are ready to eat from November to January.
