from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Búhos de Hermosillo FC is a football club based in Hermosillo , the capital of the Mexican state of Sonora . Its home ground is the Estadio Héroe de Nacozari , which can seat around 22,000 spectators .

history

The Búhos ( Spanish for eagle owls ) were founded in early 2004 and received a starting place in the fourth-class Tercera Division , which they won in the Apertura 2006 by beating Potros de Hierro FC (0: 2 and 4: 0) in the final. Associated with this was the promotion to the third-class Segunda División , where the Búhos were initially assigned to the Zona Occidente in the 2007/08 season and were represented in the Northern Group of the Liga Premier de Ascenso after the league reform from the 2008/09 season . After the Segunda División changed again in the summer of 2011 and the number of teams involved was radically reduced, the Búhos lost their place in the league and have not been in professional football since the 2011/12 season .
