The Bülstringer gate tower is the city's ancient fortifications of the city Haldensleben belonging Tower . It flanked the Bülstringer Tor , which secured the road from Haldensleben towards Bülstringen .

The tower was built around 1250/60 from rubble stones on a square floor plan. It originally had a height of 13 meters and three floors. The ground floor did not have its own entrance from the outside. The tower was only accessible via the battlements along the city wall on the first floor. This north-facing entrance is now designed as a window. To the northwest, the tower has slits of light

In 1858 the tower was increased by one floor. In this context, the originally existing clock was replaced by the Weule clock with an eight-day movement that is still in existence today . The first floor of the tower was used at times as a prison and later as a sheepfold. The crenellated crown of the tower is walled up. On the side facing away from the city center, the original wall-ditch system can still be seen today.

In 1986 the interior of the tower was expanded. Since then there has been an exhibition on the history of the city of Haldensleben in the tower. In 1998, a lavatory was reconstructed.
