A bundle revolver (also called pepperbox ) is a handgun that has several barrels arranged around an axis - in contrast to a normal revolver , which has a barrel and a drum with several drum chambers. With the bundle revolver, the entire barrel bundle is rotated one station after each shot.

The forerunners of the bundle revolvers were reversible pistols with usually two and rarely three barrels. There was a lock (weapon) , the barrel intended to be fired was turned in front of the lock. From 1770 multi-barrel bundle revolvers were built in England. They were flintlock weapons; the barrel set had to be turned by hand. These bundle revolvers were still too fragile to be usable.

There are special models that have a large number of barrels arranged in two layers around the axis. In other models, the axis itself also represents a run; it then usually has a larger caliber and is often loaded with shot .

Bundle revolvers were invented before normal revolvers and were common in the early 19th century . The further development can be seen in the Gatling guns or miniguns that function according to this principle .

A well-known manufacturer of this type of weapon was the American arms manufacturer Jacob Rupertus .
