Office building at Schwachhauser Heerstraße 41
The office building at Schwachhauser Heerstraße 41 (former German Pharmacist and Medical Bank ) in Bremen - Schwachhausen , district of Gete , on Schwachhauser Heerstraße , is one of the most important buildings in Bremen .
history
In 1971/72, the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (Düsseldorf) built the three-storey building with a stacked storey from a visible concrete structure with slightly recessed facade elements made of glass and aluminum according to plans by the architect Otto Lindner (Düsseldorf) . An office grid of 62.5 x 62.5 cm was the basis of the design. The bank's customer area was on the ground floor, with two office floors above it and an apartment on the top floor. After a renovation, some of the original character of the building has been lost. The house has been used by the Wolf und Partner tax consultancy since 2010 .
The architecture guide bremen writes: “The reinforced concrete skeleton, which is emphasized both inside and outside, is given the intended concrete brut character thanks to its formwork impressions, which is contrasted in the interior with trendy color accents .... The side fronts are divided into five fields. Here the ceiling beams protrude and serve as supports for plant troughs, while the concrete beams form a pergola on the penthouse floor . "
The building received a commendation at the BDA Prize in Bremen in 1974 with the comment: "The aim of the planning was to integrate a bank and office building into a residential development without the usual banking expense, without losing the character of a bank building."
Today (2014) the office building is used by service companies.
