The Bürstädter Zeitung is a German-language local newspaper that appears in the Hessian city of Bürstadt . It has been published by VRM GmbH & Co. KG since 2001 .

history

The Bürstädter Zeitung was launched on November 19, 1910 by the publisher Matthias Träger. At first the four-page newspaper appeared three times a week. From 1926 it appeared daily. In 1935 the publishing rights were withdrawn from the publisher Franz Träger, probably due to a criticism of Adolf Hitler's book Mein Kampf published in the Bürstädter Zeitung . From then on, the Bürstädter Zeitung appeared only as a sub- edition of the Wormser Zeitung . However, with the bombing of the publishing house in Worms in 1943, the production of the newspapers came to an end. Only six years later, in 1949, did the Bürstädter Zeitung re-establish itself again. The carrier family continued to publish the newspaper. In 2000, the Bürstädter Zeitung was taken over by VRM GmbH & Co. KG .
