B-2 (TV)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Soviet mechanical television set "Б-2" from the "NG Kosinzkowo-Werk". The television picture was behind the round glass.

The television set B-2 ( Russian : Телевизор Б-2 ) was the first television set in the Soviet Union to be produced in series from 1932 .

Furnishing

The B-2 still had a very small 30-line picture, in contrast to the later 625-line CCIR television standard , which was widespread in Europe for example . The image size was 16 mm × 12 mm, enlarged to around 3 cm × 4 cm with a magnifying glass. The television set worked with a Nipkow disk , i.e. according to the principle of so-called mechanical television . The rotation of the Nipkow disk was driven by a tube- synchronized electric motor. Two conventional medium-wave radios connected to the television set received the broadcast signals for picture and sound . Production of the B-2 began in 1933 in the "NG Kosinzkowo-Werk" in Leningrad .
