Bernardus Hendrikus Stolte

Bernardus Hendrikus Stolte (short BH Stolte, Ben Stolte) (born October 25, 1912 in Magelang on Java ; † June 19, 1985 in Beek-Ubbergen near Nijmegen ) was a Dutch ancient historian and classical philologist . He was a professor at the University of Nijmegen .

In particular, Stolte researched the Roman provincial history and culture of the Lower Rhine region of Germania inferior and the oldest national history of the Netherlands. He also learned Germanic philologies such as the Gothic language in self-study.
