b2evolution is a weblog software that enables multiple blogs in multiple languages at the same time and is multi-user capable. It can be used free of charge under the GNU General Public License 2. François Planque started b2evolution as a spin-off from b2 / cafelog, from which WordPress emerged. b2evolution is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database. It can be operated in almost any LAMP environment.
b2evolution supports several users and administrators with one installation. Numerous third-party providers offer plug-ins that make BBCode , LaTeX and graphic smileys or tools such as Gallery 2 , YouTube and digg usable. Other features include a spam filter that encompasses the entire user community and records the IPs of spammers in a central blacklist , a user interface that can be designed using skins , localization in a dozen languages and a completely open API for plug-in developers.
