B500B

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

B500B is the abbreviation for highly ductile reinforcing steel , which corresponds to the German DIN EN ISO 17660 and the Swiss SIA 262. Highly ductile reinforcing steel B500B has the material number 1.0439.

The abbreviation means: B = reinforcing steel, 500 = yield strength in N / mm² , B = ductility class B.

Physical Properties

A B500B reinforcing steel is characterized by its higher ductility and tensile strength compared to the B500A . According to the standard, these structural steels must have the following properties:

B500A B500B
Yield strength f yk 500 N / mm² 500 N / mm²
Tensile strength f tk ≥ 525 N / mm² ≥ 540 N / mm²
Yield strength ratio f tk / f yk ≥ 1.05 ≥ 1.08
Total elongation at maximum load ε uk 2.5% 5.0%
