BAfEP Salzburg is a B ildungs a nstalt for E lementar p ädagogik in Salzburg , which by the Association for Education of the Franciscan Sisters of Vöcklabruck (SSND) is worn. In 2016 a new curriculum came into effect, so the school name was also changed. The institution is a Catholic private school with public rights. The training of the pupils lasts five years and then ends with a maturity and diploma examination ( Matura ). This also gives future kindergarten teachers the opportunity to study at universities and academies. The director of the school is currently (2008) Mag. Johannes Gruchmann. Additional training at the school enables a diploma for educators in after-school care centers.
School subjects
- General subjects are religion, German, English, history and social studies, geography and economics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and environmental studies (including health and nutrition), computer science, seminar organization as well as management and law.
- Profession-specific subjects are pedagogy, curative and special education, didactics, kindergarten practice, health education, communication and group dynamics, physical education and sport as well as accounting.
- Music-creative subjects are music education, instrumental lessons , rhythmic-musical education, art education, craft education and textile design
- Additional training is after-school education with after-school care and after-school care didactics and early education with associated practice as well as didactics and pedagogy for early education
Currently (2008) offered “non-binding exercises” are performing games, choir singing, voice training, introduction to scientific work, communication and group leadership as well as volleyball.
Expectations upon admission
Upon admission to school, students are expected to enjoy working with children, including a positive attitude towards possible future careers, willingness to support tasks and goals of the school, talent in the musical field and social skills combined with flexibility, Spontaneity and psychological resilience.
