The class B 660 of the Aue mining equipment company (BBA) is an accumulator locomotive that was built from 1980 to 1990. It was mainly built for the mining operations of SDAG Wismut , but it was also supplied to other mining operations.

development

The B 660 is a tandem version of the B 360 . The two battery tenders correspond to a B 360 without a driver's cab. This was hung as a litter between the two battery tenders. Over a hundred of this locomotive were built. It replaced the BBA's worn out EL 61 tandem battery. At the end of the 1980s, some prototypes were built with special equipment. On the one hand, a radio remote control was tested and 2 coupled locomotives were operated using multiple controls. This combination was given the designation B 1260. The single locomotive had the designation B 660 W.

Constructive features

mechanics

The locomotive had an outer frame that was the supporting structure. The driver's cab was hung as a litter between the two battery tenders. It was carried out with a welded frame. As a parking brake, it had a hand spindle brake. The braking force was transmitted to the tenders via a cable. In addition to the normal clutch variant, it could also be equipped for the automatic clutch. Here the length of the locomotive was then 5100 mm.

Electrics

It was delivered with two different battery types, one with a battery voltage of 78 V with a capacity of 2 × 280 Ah and a battery voltage of 80 V and a capacity of 2 × 260 Ah. Each of the four axles was driven by a drive motor . The two batteries and the two DC series motors in a tender are connected in series. When starting up, the two motor groups are first connected in series and then in parallel via resistors. The 8 driving and 6 braking levels can be selected with the cam switch.

variants

B 660 electronics

In the course of the excavation of the so-called Wismut tunnel (a wing location of the Tiefen Elbstolln from Oppelschacht in Freital-Zauckerode to shaft 3 of the mining company "Willi Agatz" of the SDAG Wismut ), which is supposed to drain the pit field Gittersee permanently, battery locomotives of class B 360 and B 660 required. A new purchase or new production was ruled out, the existing machines were worn out, especially in the area of the drive control. Therefore, several B 360 and B 660 were overhauled and switched to thyristor control with joystick. These locomotives were given the additional designation electronics .
