The Series B 360 of operation for mining equipment Aue (BBA) indicates a Akkumulatorlokomotive , which was built from 1980 to 1991. It was mainly built for the mining operations of SDAG Wismut , but later also used in other mining operations in the GDR and in various industrial companies. With its high production numbers, the B 360 was almost ubiquitous in mining in the GDR.

development

The B 360 is based on the BBA Metallist series and is a direct further development thereof. The differences are marginal, so that the B 360 Metallist is also mentioned. The construction of this mine locomotive began in 1980 when it became clear that some of the Metallist and EL 61 in use had to be replaced due to wear and tear. From 1980 to 1990, several hundred units were built in different versions.

Constructive features

mechanics

The locomotive had an outer frame closed at the bottom, which represented the load-bearing structure and an end driver's cab. It was carried out with a welded frame. As a parking brake, it had a hand lever brake. In addition to the normal clutch variant, it could also be equipped for the automatic clutch. Here the length of the locomotive was then 2920 mm.

Electrics

It was delivered with 2 different battery types. Battery voltage 78 V with a capacity of 280 Ah and a battery voltage of 80 V and a capacity of 260 Ah. Each axle was driven by a drive motor in the cradle bearing . The parallel connected direct current series motors were controlled by resistors.

The 5 driving and 5 braking levels can be selected with the cam switch. The locomotive has a dead man's switch integrated into the drive switch, which is operated with the left foot. It is used for occupational safety by preventing the locomotive from being operated while the driver is outside the driver's cab. Due to the limited clear space underground, this way of working had repeatedly led to serious or fatal accidents at work.

A so-called locomotive key, which could only be removed in the neutral position, served as the direction selector switch. This also prevented the driving of driverless locomotives.

variants

In the course of the excavation of the so-called Wismut tunnel (a wing location of the Tiefen Elbstolln from Oppelschacht in Freital-Zauckerode to shaft 3 of the former mining company "Willi Agatz" of the SDAG Wismut ), which is supposed to drain the Gittersee mine field permanently, class B 360 battery locomotives were again used in 2006 and B 660 required. A new purchase or new production was ruled out, the existing machines were worn out, especially in the area of the drive control. Therefore, several B 360 and B 660 were overhauled and switched to thyristor control with joystick. These locomotives were given the additional designation electronics .
