The Metallist series of the Aue mining equipment company (BBA) is an accumulator locomotive that was built from 1949 to 1977. It was mainly built for the mining operations of Wismut AG / SDAG , but later also used in other mining operations in the GDR and in various industrial companies. The export of this mine locomotive to the ČSSR is also known .
development
The BBA Metallist were built in different versions from 1949 to 1977. The construction of this mine locomotive was stopped in 1977 in favor of more powerful models. The direct successor model was the BBA B 360 .
Constructive features
mechanics
The locomotive had two frames. The inner frame accommodated the axles, while the outer frame was the supporting structure. The frames were open at the bottom. The locomotive was built with different frame widths. A narrow frame variant with a width of 430 mm to 500 mm is listed separately. The frame also takes the axles here. These locomotives were built for track widths of up to 500 mm. The frame of the first series was still riveted. The series with welded frames were also referred to as EL-M.
Electrics
The two traction motors with an output of 2.6 kW are supplied with electrical energy by a lead-acid battery. The voltage of the accumulator is 78 V (39 cells á 2 V), the capacity 250 Ah. The drive and braking levels can be selected with the slip ring drive switch.
