Ilja Braun (* 1970 in Wolfsburg ) is a German journalist and translator .

Life

Ilja Braun studied German , English and film studies in Erlangen , Glasgow and Berlin from 1993 to 1999 . In 2000/2001 he completed a traineeship at the publishing house Kiepenheuer & Witsch ; then he was a freelance editor . Today he writes articles for newspapers , magazines , radio stations and websites , especially on the topics of the Internet and copyright law , etc. a. as a member of the editorial board of carta.info and (formerly) iRights.info . In the 17th electoral term of the German Bundestag (2009-2013) Braun was a speaker for the left-wing parliamentary group .

Ilya Braun, in Cologne lives, translated also fiction and non-fiction books from English and Dutch into German .

He is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ, the Association of Freelance Lecturers and the Freischreiber Professional Association .
