Esther Verhoef-Verhallen (born September 27, 1968 in 's-Hertogenbosch ) is a Dutch author .

General

Esther Verhoef's psychological thrillers and novels have sold 2.2 million copies so far. She grew up in 's-Hertogenbosch and the nearby Rosmalen . From 1995 to 2005 she published 50 non-fiction books about animals, most of which she also took the photos herself. Several of these books have also been translated into German. She also publishes erotic novels under the pseudonym Marique Maas.

She has been writing thrillers since 2003 , some of them in collaboration with her husband Berry Verhoef under the pseudonym Escober. Her thrillers have been nominated several times for Dutch and Belgian crime prizes. She was the first Dutch woman to win the Diamanten Kogel and Zilveren Vingerafdruk crime prizes .

Esther Verhoef lives with her husband in the south of France.
