The BOA Group is a global group of companies. It develops, produces and sells flexible stainless steel components for engine management, exhaust systems and ancillary units in motor vehicles worldwide. For industrial applications, the BOA Group supplies high-density and flexible metal bellows , expansion joints and metal hoses for applications in energy technology and plant construction , as well as for rail vehicles, shipbuilding, aerospace, vacuum, measurement and control technology and fittings. The products of the BOA Group transport liquid and gaseous media, control movements, compensate mechanical vibrations and compensate for thermal expansion.
history
On October 25, 1872, the Henri Ehrmann & Co. metal cartridge factory was founded in Karlsruhe. In 1898 the company received a patent for "flexible metal tubes with bulbous folds". In August 1949 it was renamed Industriewerke Karlsruhe AG (IWK). In the course of the 1970 merger of the company with Keller & Knappich in Augsburg, the name was changed to “Industriewerke Karlsruhe Augsburg (IWKA)”. On April 1st, 1980 the IWK Regulator und Kompensatoren GmbH was founded and its production facility relocated to Stutensee-Blankenloch near Karlsruhe. In 1989 Tubest (France), a manufacturer of flexible metal hoses, and SFZ, Chassieu (France), a manufacturer of expansion joints, were taken over. In 1990, the takeover of BOA in Rothenburg (Switzerland) followed with all subsidiaries and associated companies. In 2006, IWKA AG (Holding) sold IWKA BKT GmbH with all its subsidiaries and associated companies to the financial investor Odewald & Compagnie . IWKA BKT changed its name to BOA BKT and founded BOA Holding as a holding company for the entire BOA Group. In 2008 BOA (Shanghai) Bellows Technology Co., Ltd. founded. In 2010 Odewald sold the company to a new financial investor, AEA Investors . In 2014 BOA RBT SRL was founded in Arad / Romania.
Ring International Holding AG has been the new owner of the BOA Group since the end of 2018.
