The SG Frankenhausen is a Saxon Hockey - and volleyball club in Crimmitschauer district Frankenhausen .

history

Before 1933, ice hockey was already being played at TV Frankenhausen , which was Sachsenmeister in 1940, 1941 and 1942.

In 1946 the SG Frankenhausen was re-established . In 1949 and 1950 the club's ice hockey team reached the “Championship of the Soviet-occupied Zone” and in 1949 also became Saxon champions.

In 1952 SG Frankenhausen was renamed BSG Wismut Erz Frankenhausen and in 1953 won the FDGB Cup.

When the second team rose to the second highest league in 1953, it was delegated to Zwickau and continued to play as BSG Wismut Zwickau until it was dissolved.

In 1955 the team was delegated to Karl-Marx-Stadt , where the team initially played as SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt , later as SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt until it was dissolved in 1960. This meant the end of first-class ice hockey in Frankenhausen.

In 1994 SG Frankenhausen was re-established. Today ice hockey players only play as a hobby team in Crimmitschau .
