Bab El Ksar

The Bab El Ksar ( Arabic باب القصر, DMG Bāb al-Qaṣr ) is one of the entrance gates to the medina in Sfax , Tunisia and is located on the western side of the northern city wall. It gives access to the Borj El Ksar fortification located in the northwest corner of the medina .

Due to its topographical location, the gate can be reached via a flight of stairs from the Bab Jebli bus station and the Feskiet El Fendri, a cistern of the Aghlabids , which is directly adjacent to the wall of Borj El Ksar.

This gate is one of several passages that were created in the early 20th century (such as Bab El Kasbah and Bab Nahj El Bey ) to relieve the medina and promote exchange with the hinterland.
