Baba Galleh Jallow ran as the United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the Sanneh Mentereng constituency in the West Coast Administrative Region . With 45.83%, he was able to win the constituency in front of the independent candidates Alasana KD Camara and Abdou Badjan (APRC).

In November 2019, the UDP dismissed eight party members from their party who were representing in parliament. The informed parliament now classifies MPs, including Jallow, as independent MPs.
