Badischer Baubund

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Badische Baubund was an association to promote housing construction in Baden , which was founded in June 1916 and existed until 1930.

His goals included alleviating the housing shortage, creating housing for returnees from the war, and providing housing for large families. The Baubund wanted to bundle the various individual initiatives in Baden and compensate for the housing shortage expected at the end of the war with a focus on the socially needy. His tasks included the procurement of building land, building supplies and materials as well as manpower. The founders of the Baubund responded to the fact that private building initiatives and small apartment construction would not be able to meet the high demand for living space (so-called small apartment issue ). The Baubund also acted as a lobbyist for the legislative institutions and supported the municipalities in public construction projects. The Baubund also saw itself as a model for similar forms of association that it sought to encourage in other states.

The association was dissolved in 1930. His employees included the Karlsruhe-based architect Robert Curjel .
