bahn.business is a business customer program of Deutsche Bahn based on the volume discount . If a certain turnover level is reached, a discount is granted in the following year. Newly registered customers receive a discount if they can provide evidence of corresponding sales in the previous year.

The program was started in August 2003 under the name bahn.corporate . Almost eight weeks later, 750 customers had registered. Bahn.business now looks after around 50,000 business customers (as of August 2016).

Discount levels

The business customer discount is granted on all DB tickets at the flex price Business and can be combined with the discounts of a BahnCard Business for even more savings. It is based on the annual DB ticket sales. This includes all tickets, seat reservations and all BahnCard Business purchases. The company is classified in the discount scale on the basis of the (annual) DB ticket sales of the previous year. New customers receive the business customer discount as soon as they have reached a ticket turnover of 3,000 euros.

Customer portal

If a business customer wishes to take part in the program, they must first register on the Internet. This gives the company an individual corporate customer portal. You can use this to book bahn.business- OnlineTickets . There are different user rights:

  • The travel manager is the administrator of the customer portal. He has all available rights. It is possible to use several travel managers.
  • Bookers order tickets centrally for other employees.
  • Self-bookers order their tickets independently .
  • Representatives order tickets on behalf of other business members.

A booking via the customer portal is not absolutely necessary. It is also possible to purchase the ticket at the machine or at the counter by presenting a BonusCard Business or BahnCard Business .

payment

Credit cards are required to participate in the program: A company credit card (for bookers) or a personal credit card (for self-bookers and representatives). The company credit card is a company account that is issued in the name of a company. Business trips are processed through this account. Personal corporate cards are individual cards that are issued by the company to employees and issued in their names. The expenses are usually debited to the employee's account.
