Blackhorse Road is a train station in Walthamstow, London Borough of Waltham Forest . The local transport hub, which also includes a station of the London Underground , is served by trains of the Victoria Line and the railway company London Overground . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 3 at the intersection of Blackhorse Road / Blackhorse Lane and Forest Road / Ferry Lane. In 2013, 7.90 million underground passengers used the station, plus 0.828 million rail passengers. The railway runs above ground, the subway underground.

The station was opened on July 19, 1894 as part of the Gospel Oak – Barking railway. This was a joint project between the Midland Railway and the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway . The opening of the first section of the Victoria Line between Walthamstow Central and Highbury & Islington took place on September 1, 1968.
