The Grover Beach station is located on the railway line Los Angeles - San Luis Obispo . It was opened in October 1996 after a short construction period . Construction costs were $ 1.6 million. Despite the fact that offices have also been built, the stop is unoccupied.
The station is located on the outskirts of Grover Beach and, together with California State Route 1, forms its western edge of the settlement. To the west, on the other side of the road, there is a contiguous forest area, which after a good 200 meters turns into a dune landscape and another 200 meters into a sandy beach.
A parking lot with 30 parking spaces is allocated to the station building.
The Amtrak - Pacific Surfliner in both directions and the Amtrak coaches stop twice a day . Of the 73 California train stations served by Amtrak, Grover Beach was the 52nd busiest in 2010, with an average of approximately 50 passengers per day getting on or off.
There is a South County Area Transit bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the train station. The resort of Pismo Beach , popular with surfers, can be reached by bus 21 from the train station.
