Hankou Railway Station

The Hankou Railway Station ( Chinese  漢口站 ) is one of the three main railway stations in the city of Wuhan , the provincial capital of Hubei the People's Republic of China. It is located in the Hankou district , north of the historical center of Hankou.

When the Beijing – Hankou railway started operating in the early 20th century, its terminus was Hankou Dazhimen ( 大智 门 火车站 ) station, which was just outside the walls of the bustling port city of Hankou. In 1991 the old train station was closed and the services moved to today's Hankou train station.

In December 2012, Hankou Station was connected to the Wuhan subway system by Line 2 of the subway system.

On January 23, 2020, the station together with the city's entire transport infrastructure was closed due to the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus . This unprecedented measure has been known as the "Hubei Lockdown 2020".
